The stiff-person syndrome is a rare, incurable neurological condition that leads to severe muscle spasms and stiffening of the limbs.

"Unfortunately, these spasms impair every area of my everyday existence, leading me to walk awkwardly and sing less than usual," Dion stated.

Dion shared a heartfelt video on her Instagram account, which she uploaded in her native language of French as well as in English.

Dion, who is 54 years old, has had to cancel and postpone a lot of shows in the last year because of health problems.

Doctors explain that while there is no cure for the illness, muscle relaxants and anti-convulsant can be used to alleviate and manage symptoms.
