Shooting at the University of Virginia Campus. Police identified the suspect who shot at the UVA campus.

A shooting happened late Sunday night on the campus of the University of Virginia. UVa police identified a suspect, Christopher Darnell Jones.

Christopher Darnell Jones apparently experienced childhood in Richmond and played football at 2 area high schools.

At 10:42 p.m., The emergency management of the University's Twitter account detailed "Dynamic Assailant gun revealed in the area of Culbreth Street."

Starting around 3 a.m. Authorities of UVa had not delivered word about any likely wounds or fatalities.

Numerous police agencies, including a Virginia State Police helicopter, were looking for the suspect.

Culbreth Street, where the shooting occurred is on the north end of campus close to the school's theater.

Around 10:15 p.m., Em Gunter, 19, was watching a lecture in her dorm when she heard six shots ring out. 

Em Gunter stays in the International Residential College, and she can see Culbreth street from her window.

Em Gunter informed 350 other residents in her building by sending messages and advised them to stay inside.
