After a recount, Republican firebrand Lauren Boebert was declared the winner of the second term in Congress.

Ms. Boebert won back Colorado's third district by a razor-thin 546-vote margin against her Democratic challenger, businessman Adam Frisch.

Because of the razor-thin margin, the state of Colorado's law required an automatic recount.

Mr. Frisch, who ran his campaign on a moderate platform, admitted defeat in the contest a month ago.

After all the counties in the state had completed their recounts, Ms. Boebert sent a video to Twitter in which she expressed gratitude to her followers.

Remarked that she was "thrilled" the Republicans had taken control of the gavel in the House of Representatives.

She vowed to "be a strong advocate for freedom and do everything I can to safeguard our God-given rights" and "stand up for our conservative ideals."

Mr. Frisch said his campaign "showed the nation that radical politicians aren't indestructible" after the recount results were disclosed late Monday.

Republican control of the House has increased to 222-213, a nine-seat lead. The Senate's 51-49 Democratic majority means that the Democrats kept control.
