When Sheinelle Jones was a kid, she had posters of Janet Jackson all over her room. These days, she could even get to perform with her idol.

On December 16th, Jackson, 56, visited TODAY and Sheinelle got to spend some quality time with the five-time Grammy Award winner.

Sheinelle, 44, is such a huge admirer that she performed "Rhythm Nation" with a dance crew dressed as Jackson for TODAY's 2019 Halloween Celebration.

During that time period, Jackson sent his gratitude to Jones for the homage by means of a prerecorded video greeting.

This week marked the first time that they actually got together to discuss it face-to-face.

Jackson's response to Sheinelle's dance performance, which highlighted her abilities, was enthusiastic: "I love it."

Sheinelle was told by Jackson, "I would love for you to join me (on stage)" in reference to participating in the performance. "You really should."
